We took the banking rule book and threw it out the teller window. Who was it that said that all banks need to conform to a rigid set of rules, requirements, processes and procedures. Some structure, of course, is necessary and important, but when it becomes excessive—like in many banks—it creates a business operating environment where the expected is the best that can be delivered, the routine is as good as it gets, excuses for not doing something replace solutions for getting it done and “customer easy” is the farthest thing from the truth.
